Senior Bioengineering Scientist / Bioengineering Scientist / Research Associate (Engineering)
Job Description:
- The main duties of Senior Bioengineering Scientist / Bioengineering Scientist/ Research Associate (Engineering) will be to drive the development and engineering of hardware and software to support the Company’s bioengineered human heart tissue assays for drug discovery and disease modelling
- The Senior Bioengineering Scientist / Bioengineering Scientist/ Research Associate (Engineering) will work with and report to Team Head. He/she will also complete tasks as assigned by Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and Chief Research and Development Officer (CRDO). The selected candidate will be expected to apply his/her knowledge and expertise to design, engineer, innovate and enhance customized software (both for data acquisition and analysis) and hardware (e.g., bioreactors, instrumentation) to complement the biological assays
- The candidate is also expected to contribute to publications and external presentations, assist with patent applications, and answer questions from clients, as necessary
- This position will be working at our Hong Kong facility in Kwun Tong area
Qualification and requirements:
- Senior Bioengineering Scientist / Bioengineering Scientist: PhD degree with 0-5 year of experience. Experienced candidate may be considered as Senior Scientist. Preferably with postdoctoral research/industry experience, in biomedical, mechanical or software engineering
- Research Associate (Engineering): Master’s degree in biomedical, mechanical or software engineering, or a related discipline. MPhil graduates are preferred. Bachelor’s degree holder with relevant laboratory skillsets and research experience will also be considered
- Knowledge and understanding in areas such as
- Programming (candidate with solid background in LabVIEW and/or MATLAB will be a strong advantage) Product design and rapid prototyping
- Computer aided design (CAD) and manufacturing 3D-printing
- Signal acquisition and processing Robotics/mechatronics and automation
- Machine learning
- Data analysis
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills for data analysis and presentation, i.e. Graphpad Prism, SPSS, PowerPoint, Excel, etc
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English in oral and written formats. Demonstrated ability to create written experimental plans
- Ability to keep current with relevant scientific literature
- Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills

Job Description
Reporting to the Financial Controller (FC), the Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing one of the business units, Sardocor Corp., assisting with the overall financial planning, control, and reporting, including:
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS, regulatory and government reporting requirements
- Preparing and managing budget, rolling forecast and cashflow Assisting with annual audit and all tax related matters
- Supporting FC on group financial reporting, budgeting, and cash monitoring processes
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls and SOPs
- Participating in ad hoc duties and projects when required
Qualifications and requirements
- Degree holder in Finance / Accounting, qualified member of
- ACCA/HKICPA;
- Five years of relevant work experience of which at least 2 years in US listed company and audit experience in Big 4 accounting firms is required;
- Experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry or have system implementation, SOX (Sarbane Oxley) experience and participated finance projects (i.e. IPO, restructuring, etc) will definitely be an asset;
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations, tax issues and legal practice of Hong Kong and US;
- Strong business acumen including skills in communications, organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking, problem solving, research, analytical;
- Ability to set priorities and adapt in a changing business environment and rapid growth of activities;
- Experience related to process improvement and system enhancement projects;
- Drive, enthusiastic, highly self-motivated, and able to operate independently;
- Fluent in English and Cantonese or Mandarin. Immediate availability or short notice is highly preferred.
