Gregory D Lewis, MD


Dr. Gregory D. Lewis is a cardiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital specializing in heart failure, heart transplantation, and cardiopulmonary exercise physiology. He serves as Section Head of Heart Failure, Medical Director of the Heart Transplant Program, and Director of the Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing Laboratory.


Dr. Lewis is an accomplished physician-scientist whose research focuses on heart failure, exercise intolerance in cardiovascular disease, pulmonary circulation, and metabolic responses to exercise. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications and has contributed to the development of innovative approaches to the evaluation and treatment of patients with advanced cardiovascular disease.


Dr. Lewis completed his medical education at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, followed by residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training in cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is board certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
