Niharika Kamat

Vice President, Clinical Operations

Currently serving as Vice President of Clinical Operations at Sardocor, Niharika Kamat brings nearly 20 years of leadership experience across the medical device, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology sectors. With deep expertise in global Phase 1–3 trials across cardiovascular, liver, hemophilia, and rare disease indications, she continues to drive strategic planning and operational excellence in cutting-edge clinical programs.

Prior to joining Sardocor, Niharika served as Head of Clinical Operations at Tenaya Therapeutics, where she led First-in-Human gene therapy trials in cardiovascular disease, implemented dose escalation strategies, and built a high-performing Clinical Operations team. Her earlier roles include leading gene therapy programs for hemophilia at Catalyst Biosciences and nearly a decade at Gilead Sciences, where she managed small molecule trials across all phases in infectious diseases. She also contributed to the development of cardiovascular medical devices at Abbott Vascular (formerly Guidant Corporation).

Niharika is passionate about integrating the patient voice into trial design, and ensuring scientific goals are balanced with participant experience. Her expertise spans strategic planning, vendor and CRO management, inspection readiness, process optimization, and building Clinical departments from the ground up.

She holds a Master’s degree in Bioengineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Mumbai University.
