Our Responsibility

Safety of Patients

  • At Medera, we are responsible global citizens committed to providing patients with better quality of life and better chances of recovery
  • Our top priority is the safety of our products, whether during trials in the discovery and development phases of any new drug, or usage of our therapeutics after commercial launches
  • Usage of functioning bioengineered mini-Organs helps us significantly reduce risks for patients even during our development phases. This can be achieved by a more accurate assessment of the new drug’s toxicity, efficacy, and dosage in the human mini-Organs. Considering the National Institutes of Health (NIH) of the United States reports that 95 out of every 100 drugs that pass animal tests fail in humans, our advancement in human mini-Organs directly addresses drug toxicity or lack of efficacy in humans that goes undetected in animal testings
  • Medera’s approach can mitigate life-threatening risks for patients. This is also an ethical approach in discovering and developing new drugs with reduced animal testing
  • To address differential drug response in different ethnic groups, we bioengineer mini-Organs with a range of genetic backgrounds to tailor existing drugs or design new drugs to target each ethnic group for high therapeutic efficacy

  • At Medera, we value human capital. We are engaged in globally pioneering and state-of-the-art science and technology, and always actively recruiting from among the most talented pools of like-minded specialists. We seek and treasure talents with vision and values similar to Medera, to innovate new science to improve our technology platform such that the bioengineering of mini-Organs can be further advanced to facilitate the discovery and development of next-generation therapeutics with an awareness for environmental and animal issues
  • Diversity
    Overall: 45.16% male / 54.84% female

    Ethnic group diversity: around 25%

Environmental and Social

  • We are highly committed to contributing to a better global environment
  • Apart from being environment conscious, we are making use of our mini-Life Platform to save animal lives, and to gradually achieve an animal-testing free future. Animals used for laboratory purposes around the world include dogs, cats, monkeys, rabbits, mouse, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, etc.
  • According to Cruelty Free International, at least 192.1 million animals were used for scientific purposes worldwide in 2015. This includes nearly 80 million experiments on animals as well as millions of other animals who are sacrificed for their tissues, used to breed genetically modified animal strains, and bred but not used. In 2015, an estimated 207,724 tests using dogs and 158,780 tests using monkeys were conducted
  • Usage of mini-Organs also contributes to reducing carbon emissions and waste production produced by all the facilities and controlled environment related to and necessary for the breeding, modifying and constant monitoring of the tested animals
